Bereits im Urlaub wusste ich, dass ich meine Erinnerungen gerne als Scrapbookseite festhalten wollte. Vor Ort hatte ich schon das Bild mit all den Elementen vor Augen, die Teile eines fantastischen Urlaubserlebnisses waren, zusammengefügt zu einem Ganzen.
On holiday I already knew, that I wanted to create a scrapbooking page to remember these holidays. The image was already in my mind with all the elements that stood for an amazing holiday experience combined into one.

Zu Hause angekommen habe ich alle passenden Schneideformen aus den Schränken geholt und alles erstmal in neutraler Farbe geschnitten, um zu verstehen, ob das von mir im Kopf vorhandene Layout überhaupt auf einer Seite von 30cm x 30cm funktionieren kann. Dann habe ich die Farbtöne, mit denen ich arbeiten wollte, festgelegt sowie das zentrale Motiv, um das die anderen Elemente gearbeitet werden sollten.
Die Herausforderung war, einen guten Übergang der unterschiedlichen Elemente zu erreichen, so dass das Bild als Gesamtwerk wirkt und nicht zusammen gestückelt. Nach vieler Schneiderei, Färberei und Umfärben war es dann endlich fertig.
At home I started by pulling out all the dies that I wanted to use and cutting out everything in a neutral colour in order to check if the imagined layout might work on a scrapbook size page of 12inch x 12inch. Then I decided on the colour scheme I wanted to work with and chose the centre piece to be surrounded by the other elements.
The challenge was to create a wholesome piece of work where the transition of the elements is smooth. There was a lot of cutting, colouring and recolouring involved to its finished stage.

Es ist bereits ein Jahr her, seit ich dieses Layout gearbeitet habe und ich erfreue mich weiter an den Erinnerungen, die dieses Bild hervorruft. Und wo ist es besser aufgehoben, als an dem Platz, der dieses inspiriert hat. Das Bild hängt jetzt in der Lodge in der wir einen fantastischen Urlaub verbracht haben.
It’s been a year since I created this layout and I still enjoy the memories of it. And where better to put it than the place that inspired it all. This wall picture now decorates a wall in the lodge where we spent a fantastic holiday.
