Bald ist der Sommer da !!! Die Ferien sind nicht mehr in weiter Ferne und die Urlaubszeit mit Sonne, Strand und Meer beginnt. Passend dazu habe ich dieses Strandhaus kreiert. Umgeben von Wasser, den Möven im Himmel, mit den an den Strand gespülten Muscheln, einem Fischernetz, den aufgefädelten Schätzen aus dem Meer, einer Flaschenpost, einem alten Anker und vielem mehr kann man sich in dem Kleinod am Strand wohlfühlen.

Soon summer is here !!! The holidays are not far off and the time on the beach with the sea and sun will start soon. I have created this little beach house which is surrounded by water, with sea gulls in the sky, sea shells that have been washed onto the beach, an old fishing net, treasures from the sea beaded and hung on the wall, a message in a bottle, an old anchor and many more little details where you can feel at ease on the beach.

Die Basis für dieses Haus ist die Score Board Stanze Pro (House 3D Sizzix 656836) von Eileen Hull. Sie hat eine Vielzahl von tollen Stanzen für Sizzix entworfen. Mit den Scoreboard Stanzen kann man besonders dickes und unterschiedliches Material schneiden. Ich brauche sicher nicht erwähnen, dass ich ein grosser Fan von ihr und ihren Stanzen bin. Weiter habe ich für das ganze Projekt Eileens Farben, die Colour Box Blends, eingesetzt.

The base for this beach house is the Score Board Die Pro (House 3D Sizzix 656836) by Eileen Hull. She has designed many beautiful dies for Sizzix. With the Score Board Dies you are able to cut extra thick and various materials. No need to say that I am a big fan of Eileen’s and her dies. Furthermore I used Eileen’s colours, the Colour Box Blends, for the entire project.

Eigentlich wollte ich den kreativen Verlauf des Hauses festhalten, aber wie so oft kommt das eine zum anderen und tadaaa das Projekt ist fertig. Darum zeige ich hier nur drei Bilder vom Anfang und benenne ich hier das ein oder andere, was ich gemacht und eingesetzt habe.

My intention was to document the creative process of the house. But how it happens many times one thing adds to the other and tadaaaaa, the project is finished, ups. This is why I only show three pictures from the start and I will name a few things what I used and how it was done.

Angefangen habe ich mit der Basis, dafür habe ich die 3D Prägeschablone Cobblestone von Sizzix verwendet und sie mit den Colour Box Blends eingefärbt. Dann habe ich ein Haus ausgeschnitten und zusammengebaut, die Wände sind mit der 3D Texture Fade Schablone Lumber von Sizzix geprägt, die Farben habe ich gemischt, damit es nach gestrichenem aber verwittertem Holz mit Moos aussieht. Für alle Klebearbeiten habe ich Heisskleber verwendet. Zu dem Zeitpunkt war mir noch nicht klar, dass dieses ein Strandhaus werden sollte. Ein Haus war mir etwas langweilig, darum habe ich ein weiteres zugefügt und beide über das Eingangselement verbunden. Die Wände des zweiten Hauses sollten sich von dem ersten unterscheiden. Also habe ich kleine Querstreifen im Holzdesign wie Bretter angeklebt und auch die Giebel damit versehen. Da wusste ich, es muss ein Haus am Strand werden. Die Dächer sind mit der Embossing Schablone Gridlock geprägt.

I started with the base using the cobblestone 3D Folder by Sizzix, coloured it with Colour Box Blends. Then I cut and assembled one house, embossing the walls with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fade Lumber and coloured it, blending them to make it look like painted wood but weathered with moss building up. The entire gluing was done with hot glue. At this time I did not know that it was going to be a beach house. Only one house seemed a bit boring, so that I added another one connecting them with the entrance element. The walls of the second weren’t supposed to look the same so that I glued strips of paper in wood design to the walls as well as the attics. then I knew it had to be a house on the beach. The roof tops were embossed with the Sizzix Folder Gridlock.

Um die Basis stabil und grösser zu gestalten, habe ich alles auf einen flachen Holzrahmen verklebt. Für den Sand habe ich Distress Grid Paste mit Colour Box Blends vermischt und in die noch feuchte Masse die Muscheln und anderen Elemente reingedrückt. Die Fahne von Eileens Travel Trailer Set, die Möven und Anker sind mehrfach verklebt.

For a more sturdy and larger base everything was glued onto a wooden frame. To create the sand I mixed Distress Grid Paste with Colour Box Blends and pushed the shells and other elements into the paste while still wet. The flag from Eileen’s Travel Trailer Set, the sea gulls and the anchor were triple glued.
