Wenn die Karnevalszeit naht, dann denke ich immer an Bilder von Venedig, die wunderschönen Kostüme und Masken, die blaue Lagune und Vögel. Genau diese Stimmung wollte ich auf dieser Scrapbookseite festhalten. Das Bild soll die Leichtigkeit und den Tanz der Masken durch die Lagunenstadt wiederspiegeln.

Den Hintergrund habe ich selber gestaltet, in dem ich auf neutralem Hintergrund mit Strukturpaste und Farbe vorwiegend die Randbereiche zunächst eingestrichen und dann die Ränder aufgeraut habe. Hinter dem Käfig habe ich einen Textstempel mit passenden Tönen eingefärbt und den Druck mit Embossingpulver fixiert. Den gleichen Text habe ich weiter unten nochmal mit anderer Farbe eingesetzt. Die Bienenwaben habe ich mit einer Schablone aufgetragen. Zum Schluss habe ich einen Tim Holtz Stempel genommen und verschiedene Bereiche davon immer wieder am Rand mit StazOn Farbe gedruckt. Alle weiteren Elemente, wie die Masken, der Käfig, Vogel und die Verzierungen sind aus neutralem Papier ausgestanzt und später eingefärbt. Die Rosetten sind mit etwas Glitzer eingestrichen. Die Stäbe habe ich mit Gold und Türkis eingefärbt als Symbol für die Lagune und ihre Gondeln.

Whenever the time of Carnevale is approaching Venice, the beautiful costumes and masks, the blue laguna and the birds come to my mind. I hope my scrapbook page is reflecting the atmosphere, the lightness and the dance of the masks through this enchanting laguna town.

The background is created by myself starting with a neutral sheet of card stock. I applied structure paste and different colours mostly around the edges and distressed them after everything was dry. Behind the bird cage I applied several matching colours to a text stamp and fixed the print with embossing powder. You will find the same text in a different colour beneath the border. After applying colour through a honeycomb stencil I used a Tim Holtz stamp and took different sections of it to print around the edges with StazOn ink. All the other elements, like the masks, the cage, the bird and all the swirls  were cut out of neutral card stock and coloured. The rosettes have some glitter and for the poles I used gold and turquoise to reflect the laguna and it’s gondolas.
